Dentures That Actually Stay in Place

The stability of implants. The coverage of a full denture. The confidence to eat, laugh, and live without thinking about your teeth.

Here’s the thing about traditional dentures that nobody tells you upfront: they work best right after they’re made. Over time, your jawbone shrinks because it’s no longer receiving stimulation from tooth roots. As the bone changes shape, the denture fits less well. You start using more adhesive. You start avoiding certain foods. You start worrying about laughing too hard.

Implant-supported dentures solve this at the root cause — literally. The titanium implant posts act as artificial roots, stimulating your jawbone and preventing the bone loss that makes traditional dentures progressively worse. The denture snaps onto those posts and stays there, giving you bite strength and stability that is dramatically better than anything adhesive can provide.

The result: you eat what you want, speak clearly, smile freely, and stop thinking about your teeth. That is what we are going for at Anderson Smile Center.

Two Types of Implant-Supported Dentures

We help you choose the right option at your consultation.

Removable

Snap-On Overdenture

Attaches to 2 to 4 implant posts via ball attachments or locator clips. Can be removed by the patient for cleaning. Provides dramatically better stability than traditional dentures. Most affordable implant denture option and a great choice for patients transitioning from regular dentures.

Fixed

Fixed Implant Bridge (All-on-4 / All-on-6)

Permanently attached to 4 to 6 implants per arch. Cannot be removed by the patient — only by a dentist. Provides the closest experience to natural teeth, with the highest bite force and the most natural feel. The premium option for patients who want to forget they ever had dentures.

Signs Implant-Supported Dentures May Be Right for You

😟

Your Dentures Slip or Shift

If you’re constantly adjusting your denture or avoiding certain foods, implant stability is a life-changing upgrade.

🦴

You’re Concerned About Bone Loss

Long-term denture wear accelerates jawbone shrinkage. Implants stop this process and preserve your facial structure.

🍎

You Avoid Certain Foods

Steak, apples, corn on the cob — implant dentures restore the bite force to eat what you want without worry.

💬

Dentures Affect Your Speech

Slipping dentures can cause speech issues. Implant-anchored dentures stay in place so you speak naturally and confidently.

😊

You Want to Smile Freely

If you hold back laughter or cover your mouth in photos, implant-supported dentures give you the confidence to stop doing that.

🔧

You’re Tired of Adhesives

No more messy adhesives, no more soaking overnight (for fixed options). Implant dentures simplify your daily routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Regular dentures rest on the gums and rely on suction or adhesive to stay in place. They can shift while eating or speaking, and over time they cause the jawbone beneath them to shrink. Implant-supported dentures attach to titanium posts placed in the jawbone, giving them dramatically better stability. The implant posts also stimulate the jawbone, preventing the bone loss that regular dentures accelerate.

Snap-on overdentures typically require 2 to 4 implants per arch. Fixed implant bridges require 4 to 6 implants per arch. We assess your bone density and jaw structure at your consultation to determine the optimal number for your specific situation.

Yes — this is one of the biggest advantages. Because the denture is anchored to implants, you have significantly more bite force and stability. Most patients can eat a full, normal diet including foods they had to avoid with traditional dentures. Fixed implant bridges restore bite force closest to natural teeth.

It depends on the type. Snap-on overdentures can be removed by the patient for cleaning. Fixed implant bridges are permanently attached and can only be removed by a dentist. Many patients prefer the fixed option for the most natural feel, while others prefer the removable option for easier cleaning.

The process typically takes 4 to 6 months from consultation to final denture placement. After the implant posts are placed, your jawbone needs 2 to 4 months to fuse with them. During this healing period, you wear a temporary denture. Once osseointegration is complete, your final custom denture is fabricated and attached.

Many of our patients come to us after years of struggling with traditional dentures. Long-term denture wear does cause bone loss, which can affect how many implants are possible and whether bone grafting is needed. However, this does not mean implant-supported dentures are out of reach. We assess your bone density at your consultation and discuss all available options.
